Over the years, one question has guided Edeline Lee’s design process: what does it mean to dress with true power, grace, beauty, and dignity in today’s world?

Edeline Lee is a Canada-born, London-based designer, whose pieces are celebrated for their precision, cut, drape, and feminine form. This season, the designer returned to her archived pieces, and used them as blueprints for her designs. She experimented with fit, textile, and dramatic, sculptural forms. The collection was almost entirely monochromatic; Lee used black and white in order to draw attention to the cut and drape of her work. But Lee also wasn’t afraid of experimentation: some dresses included playful chest embellishments, diagonal pleats, and flowy skirts. Lee brought back her signature flou bubble jacquard for many pieces. Asymmetric hems were consistent throughout the collection, bringing an easy-going edge to a delicate outfit. Midi-length dresses were given a sculptural edge around the hip. Gold fabric was pleated and draped into wrap skirts, handkerchief skirts, and criss-cross tops. Lee also experimented with sleeves: triple bell and bishop sleeves were a perfect fit for the brand’s classic ‘day-to-night’ dresses.
