On Sunday June 9th, 50 of Toronto’s finest chefs and restaurants gathered at the Brickworks for the Second Harvest Food Rescue’s Toronto Taste event.

The culinary extravaganza showcased the best of the best from around the city with delicious bite-sized tasters from the likes of Aria Ristorante’s Eron Novalski, Patois Toronto’s Craig Wong, Terroni’s Daniel Mezzolo, and Diwan Resturant’s Mark McEwan–to name a few. There we’re delicious entree styled eats, extravagant pastries, and delicious wines, beers, and ciders to try.

Entertainers from Zero Gravity Circus created an electric atmosphere as aerialists, stilt walks, jugglers, acrobats, and fire performers lit up the night’s event. There were three auctions event go-ers could participate in including the live high-energy “treasure trove of travel adventures and indulgent treats” auction, the silent auction featuring everything from “culinary adventures to luxury home appliances”, and the Fine Wine Auction. The live auction itself raised $130k in funds to support Second Harvest, Canada’s largest food rescue charity.

The Chef Challenge had three incredible chefs battling it out to prepare a dish for an all-star panel. The panel of judges included Top Chef Canada’s Chef Mark McEwan, Chef Susur Lee, and Chef Juriaan Snellen, hosted by the always funny, ever engaging, and consistently creative likes of Chef Matt Basile and Roger Mooking. Chef Ivana Raca came out victorious.
