King West has a new venue in town, and it’s one you will want to visit as soon as you can. Dasha, located just east of Portland street, is Chef Akira Back’s latest and most innovative restaurant to date.

This Michelin star chef, who is best known for his namesake restaurant in Toronto’s Bisha Hotel, as well as award-winning spots in Las Vegas, Seoul, Dubai (to name a few) has created what is to be “a new standard of Chinese cuisine within the city”. In partnership with Honeycomb Hospitality, Dasha is the perfect combination of a fine dining experience of modern Chinese cuisine with American influence, mixed with the vibrant nightlife entertainment that this city loves.
The dining room decor instantly transports you to another world. With custom made wall art and neon signs, you have the option of sitting in cozy and beautifully designed booths, or more spacious table seating. If a more intimate affair is what you are looking for, take the unique birdcage style staircase upstairs to the private dining hall which overlooks the entire ground floor of the venue.
Whichever your choice, it will make the perfect backdrop to enjoy the carefully curated menu. The dishes are made for sharing, and the flavours will keep everyone coming back for more. Using the depth of flavours and techniques famous in Chinese cuisine, there is something for everyone, including steamed har gow, wasabi prawns, and black truffle duck. Alongside the magnificent menu is a carefully crafted cocktail list with signature drinks such as the Halo Halo and our favorite, the Green Goddess.
The experience doesn’t stop there. Venture upstairs to one of five uniquely designed private Karaoke rooms. Each room is designed by a different local artist, and are booked based on a first-come first-serve basis. If the rooms are occupied, you can sit at the bar or grab a delicious appetizer at the Noodle bar – they’ve got you covered!
After dinner, the party continues in their exclusive speakeasy at the back of house. Hosting some of the best DJ’s, this is the place to shake off the dinner and keep the night going.
