Estée Lauder announced that it has signed Japanese model and songwriter,  Kōki, as its newest Global Spokesmodel. Kōki is the brand’s first Japanese Global Spokesmodel and will feature in campaigns across digital, in-store and print. Her first makeup and skincare campaigns will debut in Asia in March 2021, and she will appear in digital campaigns globally starting in Fall. Kōki joins the current roster of Estée Lauder global talent including Ana de Armas, Anok Yai, Bianca Brandolini D’Adda, Carolyn Murphy, Diana Penty, Grace Elizabeth, Karlie Kloss and Yang Mi.

About Kōki

Born and raised in Toyko, Kōki started her modeling career in 2018 while attending the International School in Tokyo. Since then, she has been on the covers of various fashion magazines in Japan and throughout Asia, including Harper’s Bazaar Hong Kong, ELLE Japan, ELLE Hong Kong, Marie Claire Japan, InStyle China and more. In 2018, Kōki won the Elle Cinema Awards ‘Rising Start Award’ and in 2019, Kōki, made her runway debut for Chanel’s Cruise Collection and also walked in FILA’s Fashion Week show in Milan, and for Tomo Koizumi in Rakuten Fashion Week Tokyo. The same year, she also appeared in music videos for Chinese actor and singer Kris Wu. Currently, Kōki is an ambassador for Bvlgari, Coach, Louis Vuitton, FILA and MENTHOLATUM. She is fluent in Japanese and English.

How would you describe the Estée Lauder brand in three words? 

Elegance, diversity and confidence.

 

Describe your reaction when you found out you would be working with Estée Lauder. 

 

I was speechless with joy when I found out I would be working with Estée Lauder. My heart was beating so fast with excitement and happiness. I couldn’t believe it.

 

What is one beauty product you cannot live without? 

 

I absolutely love Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Multi-Recovery Complex. I can’t live without it!

 

What was the first beauty product you ever used? 

 

The first beauty product I ever used was red lipstick.

What is your go-to makeup look? 

My go-to everyday makeup look is natural and fresh, using neutral shades. 

 

What is your morning skincare routine? 

 

In the morning, after I wash my face, I use the Estée Lauder Micro Essence Skin Activating Treatment Lotion, then I apply the Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Multi-Recovery Complex.

What is your nighttime skincare routine? 

At night, I first use the Estée Lauder Micro Essence Skin Activating Treatment Lotion, then I apply the Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Multi-Recovery Complex and use a facial roller to really let the product sink into my skin. Lastly, I apply Revitalizing Supreme+ Global Anti-Aging Cell Power Crème to nourish my skin.

 

Who are your beauty icons? 

 

My beauty icons are the women in my family. I have learned so many beauty tips and secrets from them.

 

Best piece of beauty advice given to you and from whom? 

 

The best piece of beauty advice I have received was from my mom: your body is built from what you eat. Same for your skin: take good care of your body eating healthy foods and then take care of your skin using the best products. 

How do you take care of your skin after a big shoot? 

After a big shoot, I wash my face and remove all the makeup. Then, I take extra time to really hydrate my skin. I use a hot towel to warm my face up and then apply the Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair PowerFoil Mask. Lastly, I gently massage a moisturizing creme into my skin.

What is the secret to Japanese women having flawless skin? 

Japanese cuisine is really well balanced, and I think that might be the secret to flawless skin. Another secret to flawless skin might be the humidity in Japan, especially in summer, I always feel like my skin is much more moisturized when I am in Japan than anywhere else!
