Hosted by a trio including Country queen Dolly Parton alongside rising stars Jimmie Allen and Gabby Barrett, the show featured a large slate of incredible performances, surprising victories and touching acceptance speeches, in true award show fashion.

Jimmie Allen and Gabby Barrett Tribute to Sin City

With this year’s ACM Awards returning to Las Vegas, it only made sense to kick things off with a celebration of the party city. Jimmie Allen started with a cover of “Viva Las Vegas,” and Gabby Barrett followed that up with a rendition of “Let’s Go to Vegas.”

Jimmie Allen Honors His Late Father

On top of his co-hosting, Jimmie Allen paid tribute to his father. Allen took to the stage for a personal performance of his new single, “Down Home.” This track is a sort of tribute to his father that passed away in 2019.

Miranda Lambert’s Big Win

Miranda Lamber is the record holder for winning most ACM Awards, she had not ever won the top prize, Entertainer of the Year until this year. Incidentally, this also happened to be the first ACM Awards in 17 years that she was unable to attend. Lambert pre-taped an acceptance speech in case she won, and she dedicated it to “all the singer-songwriter girls out there who are putting their blood, sweat and tears into their guitar strings. We did it! This is for us!”

Kelly Clarkson’s Tribute to Dolly Parton

Kelly Clarkson started off her tribute with Dolly Parton’s hit, “I Will Always Love You,”.  The performance brought everyone in the crowd to their feet and nearly brought Parton to tears. The “Jolene” singer, who also served as the night’s host, came to the stage after the tribute, where she and Clarkson shared a big hug.

Brothers Osborne & Brittney Spencer Closing Performance

What better way to close out the night with an epic performance of “These Boots Are Made for Walkin’,” performed by Brittney Spencer and Brothers Osbourne. They saved the best for last and went out on a real high note.
