Meet Chau and Trang, two Vietnamese sisters who co-own their family-founded brand, Paris Jewellers. Today, HOLR is sitting down to chat with the sisters, who recently designed To All The Boys I’ve Loved BeforeLana Condor’s engagement ring, about how they founded their brand, the latest Celebrate Love Collection, and how their experiences have helped inspire others to follow their dreams.

Tell us about yourselves and your brand, Paris Jewellers.

Chau and Trang: We are a family-owned, Vietnamese jewellery company with 23 stores in 4 provinces across Canada. We focus on celebrating our customer’s moments through jewellery, supporting women (our workforce is 90% female!), and giving back to our community. Our family emigrated from Vietnam over 35 years ago and when we arrived in Canada our family didn’t know how to speak English. When our mom opened our very first store, which was a very modest 400 SF, in St. Albert, Alberta, our mom used a Vietnamese-English dictionary to communicate with customers.

You recently had the opportunity to design To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, Lana Condor’s engagement ring- that’s so exciting! Can you tell us about this experience?

Chau: I was so honoured to work with Anthony to co-design this special ring for Lana. They are incredible people and I’m so truly happy for them. I listened to their first duet together ‘Raining in London’ on repeat when I was designing this ring. So many details of the ring are inspired by their love story and by this incredible song they have together. Anthony cared deeply about every detail of the ring to make sure it was perfect for Lana.

Talk to us about the new Celebrate Love collection and what we can expect when shopping the latest pieces.

Chau: I love the pieces in this collection. They were made to celebrate all of the loves in our lives! We wanted to create an assortment in a vast range of styles, and price points, to suit our customers. We are seeing a lot more sold, fine gold jewellery, and our pieces from this collection reflect that. One of my favorite pieces from the collection is our Cosmic choker necklace, it is beautiful and dainty and I love layering it with my other gold chains to add texture and sparkle.

Last year, you released the Asian Heritage Hope Collection to help fight anti-Asian racism and donated 100% of the net proceeds to the Asian Solidarity Fund and Stop AAPI Hate (U.S.).  How have your stories and/or experiences helped inspire others to push through the noise and follow their dreams?

Chau and Trang: Talking about our origin story, and where we were from was not something that we have done.  But we have learned that sharing (even when it is hard) is a powerful way for people to relate, understand, and it builds empathy.  We have had so many people reach out to us sharing that when they heard our story, they felt seen, heard and that there is hope that our future can change for the better.

What’s next for both of you and the brand?

Chau and Trang: We are excited to be launching our solid gold Zodiac collection (out now!), our Connection collection with child psychologist and best-selling author, Dr. Jody Carrington, and an incredible engagement collection closer to summer. You can always view our luxury engagement ring and wedding band collection, Eternal on our website www.parisjewellers.com. As well, in celebration of our mom’s birthday, we are launching a very meaningful piece for Asian Heritage Month (May) which is a 100% charitable necklace.
