Coachella is set to happen this year on the weekends of April 15-17 and 22-24. This year it was announced that both Billie Eilish and Kanye West are set as the headliners.

Although the festival has now been postponed 5 times over the last 2 or so years, this year the festival has high hopes for attendance in the spring. Having announced Billie Eilish and Kanye West comes as a surprise as the award shows for this year have already been postponed indefinitely due to the Omicron variant.

As of right now, Swedish House Mafia is rumoured to be the third headliner, which is usually a throwback artist. Rage Against the machine has been pulled from the bill after the rescheduling of the festival.

In 2020 the festival was supposed to be headlined by Frank Ocean, Travis Scott and Rage Against the Machine. Now, after 2 years and a very big controversy with Travis Scotts show last year, which injured and killed many people, Travis has been pulled from the bill as well.

Billie Eilish being announced as a headliner is a very monumental and deserving achievement for the 20-year-old. Billie (if the show does go on) will be the youngest headliner in Coachella history, and after the year she has had, and the release of her latest album Happier Than Ever, she deserves it.

As the festival is a few months away and is attended in the desert in California, the festival-goers and headliners hope that music and concerts can be played once again and the world can get back to its normal pace.
