A fun, colourful video with shiny outfits, lots of patterns, and statement accessories beautifully translate the label’s effortless-chic aesthetic. Member of the British Fashion Council Advisory Board, Alice Temperley founded her independent brand in 2000 after graduating from the Royal College of Art. True to its British heritage, Temperley London’s DNA is expressed through laid-back, effortless, bohemian aesthetics, with intricate hand-work embellishments and the use of pioneering artisan techniques. The label was awarded the Butterfly Mark in 2018 for its commitment to social good, responsible practices, and environmental philanthropy. A collab between the brand and John Lewis led to the Somerset by Alice Temperley collection, launched in 2012 for the iconic department store. Alice was granted an MBE in 2011 for the work she provides to the fashion industry and she recently became Ambassador of Woman for Woman International for her charitable practices. The designer’s unique creative style is also present in Temperley Bridal, a secondary line that incorporates an ethereal, timeless vision, launched in 2006.

Temperley London exclusively previewed its latest Spring-Summer 2022 collection during the first day of London Fashion Week, which happened last Friday, September 17th. Under the popular concept that more is more, the label presented a line inspired by Agatha Christie in the 1970s and Maria Schapiro’s creative soul. In a mixture of freedom and fantasy, a different feminine identity rises and gives life to shiny, metallic party dresses, cool, check printed tailors, and classic denim, which are just perfect for a summery lifestyle, with boat days, stroll by the beachside, and parties in the open air. Signature outfits include “Death on the Nilo” collages, cross-stitch girlish motifs, Moroccan mosaics, palm trees printing, floor-length dresses, off-the-shoulder pieces, designed for independent women who trust their guts. Modern bohemian glamour is Alice’s vision for this acclaimed collection. Colours are vibrant and extremely present, ranging from cloudy blues and citrus lemon to gold and silver added with beige and dark blue denims.

The Temperley Spring-Summer 2022 Exclusive Preview collection launched through a short video introducing feminine shapes, languorous silhouettes, silk draped wrap dresses, safari elements topstitching denim, zebra print, geometric motifs, and recycled sequins. Floral hand-painted prints were inspired by the brand’s deep respect for craft and human work, as well as by an instinctive beauty. The glamour of the pieces is softened into beachy reverie, with light fabrics for summer days that can go from sun-up to sun-down. Temperley London officially reduced its launches to two collections per year, emphasizing the brand’s attention to detail and artisan craftsmanship. Moreover, the label intends to showcase local artisans and the story behind its clothes in videos on its Instagram account weekly.
