The breaking artist recently announced his upcoming album and in a recent interview, he revealed that he turned down the offer to play a role in the tv series Euphoria to focus on finishing his album.

Imagine having Zendaya and Lil Nas X working together, making some art. It almost happened when the artist revealed he had been offered a part at the popular HBO’s tv series Euphoria.

In a recent interview with Variety, he confessed that it didn’t feel like the right time. “I was actually going to do Euphoria, but I didn’t want to take time away from finishing my album”, he said.

After multiple posts shared this news on the internet, he clarified via Twitter he didn’t mean he was too good for Euphoria. “This was not me saying [I’m] too good for Euphoria, that’s literally one of my favourite shows right now”, he wrote.

The tv series has been in production for its second season after having a big delay due to the pandemic. Nevertheless, showrunners have also invited another breaking artist, Dominic Fike, to join the show.

This doesn’t mean that Lil Nas X has no plans in joining the film industry. After multiple breaking-through music videos, we can expect Lil Nas X to be part of more cinematographic content showing his talent.

“I definitely want to get into acting, but I feel I have to give it my all, and I want to focus on music for right now. I want my first movie to be amazing”, he declared in the interview.

The 22-year-old has been topping the charts worldwide as the most-streamed male rapper on Spotify and has had a good streak of number one hits along the viral music videos on the web, like Montero (Call Me by Your Name) and Old Town Road.

Less than two months ago, the rapper announced his upcoming album, Montero, with a Marvel Studio’s theatrical trailer. It uses the Marvel style comic book editing with short scenes from his different music videos, like Montero’s powerfully full of meaning video, and the music from his latest song Industry Baby.

Fans and the music industry are expecting much, as his latest releases have been a total hit. He shared in an interview with Teen Vogue that he was eager to explore new sides of himself with this release.

“With this album I’ve really stepped into my vulnerability, or like these things that I was insecure about people knowing about or finding out about me. But with this, I felt very much comfortable, and I feel it’s time to do this in my career, it’s time to take that vision, where I’m able to show people another side to myself and what I deliver, you know?” he said.
