New season, new look.

Makeup Trends to Try this Fall SeasonSummer is all about dewy skin, faux freckles and barely-there makeup. As we move closer to the fall season, beauty trends shift. So allow HOLR to show you three beauty trends you can incorporate for the cooler weather.

Jewel Eyes

Bold, bright colours are in season and one way to wear them is through your eyeshadow. We have been seeing electric eye makeup looks throughout the Fall Winter runway shows. Versace’s Fall RTW collection features models in bold jewel-toned eye makeup in a thick-winged shadow. You can recreate this trend by using eyeliners of the same colour. This colourful kajal pencil from Shiseido can be used as a shadow, liner and as brow pencil too. It comes in bolder colours you can imagine for only $34. For a more affordable option, this jumbo pencil from NYX Cosmetics comes in different shades, and the thickness will allow you to cover more grounds.

Romantic Gothic Eyes

If you’re not the colourful type, then this trend is for you. The dark, gothic eyes were seen in a lot of runway shows lately. Christian Dior, for example, had their models walk in their Fall 2021 RTW show in dark smoky eyeshadow looks. The intensity all comes from the eyes, and the eyes alone with the rest of the face left with barely-there makeup. You can achieve this look by paying homage to the early 2000s pop-punk extraordinaire, Avril Lavigne. Or you know, you can use a combination of gel and liquid eyeliners. Try this liquid eyeliner from Essence, it’s amazing and it only costs $2.99!

The Classic Bold Lip

Fall makeup is without bold lips. This trend reemergences every year once days start to get cooler and shorter. As it only should because fall is all about drama. Besides, with Halloween getting closer, dark plum lips just make sense (The Craft, anyone?). If that’s not up to your taste, you can go for the classic red lip. This lip paint from Fenty Beauty in the shade “Uncensored” is the perfect shade of red for everyone. It’s long-lasting and easy to apply. And if red is too bold for you, then opt for shades of peach and corals. Vivienne Westwood’s Fall RTW incorporated the bold lip trend by using warmer reds and corals. This Rare Beauty’s Lip Souffle Cream Lipstick in shade “Inspire” is a great alternative for a bold red.
