The ‘stay at home’ measures have been eased, but live music is still limited to Instagram screens. Here is an initiative to help the music industry during times when social distancing is the norm.

Winners of the economic lull created by the COVID-19 pandemic will be the ones who have innovative crisis-management solutions. Maybe this will be an impetus to the creative community if they know how to apply it to context. If anything, the entertainment industry needs its artistic talent to put their heads together to revive the industry in the best way possible. The story of Masks For Music can definitely serve as inspiration for those who are hesitant to act.

The initiative offers an affiliate solution to help the global music industry reeling under the financial pressure created by the pandemic. The founders intend it to be a support for musicians and technicians, and also to raise awareness about the impact of the lockdown measures on the music and live events industries. Needless to say, as the name indicates, they create masks—one of the most essential accessories at this time.

Masks For Music aims to bring in professionals working within or associated with music scenes (think nightclub bartenders to the DJ and booking agent to music festival organizations) to sell their KN95 and adjustable fabric masks. The good news for the music industry partner is that 50 percent of the earnings go to them while the rest goes to charities and covering the production and distribution cost. Artists and venues who are signing up also have the option to donate the income generated through sales to charitable organizations within the music industry.

Musicians can help spread the word using the custom mask filter featuring their flagship design available on Instagram or by producing content in support of the project.

Currently, Masks For Music has three different product packs available for sale online. The logistics, delivery, and administration is handled by the company themselves, making it easy for the collaborators.

If you are a music industry insider, here is how to be part of the project:
