It’s officially time to meet the founder who started it all Emily Oliveira. Emily sat down with HOLR to chat about everything NU BEAUTY, and how the brand is able to provide you with the resources needed to help you feel confident in your bare skin. 

Tell us all about yourself and how you were inspired to create an amazing skincare brand?

The opportunity came to me very naturally. I was very blessed growing up because I didn’t have unmanageable skin or a crazy acne story. Until I reached my 20s and I got hit with adult acne. I learned firsthand how much your appearance affects your confidence. I just didn’t love what I saw in the mirror, which affected my self-esteem and confidence. So I turned to educate myself on what I was putting in my body and on my body. I realized a lot of the skincare products we often gravitate to are really aesthetic but have poor quality ingredients. I decided to marry the art and the science of aesthetic packaging and powerful, yet naturally derived and organic skincare ingredients. And that’s when Nu Beauty was born.

Describe your vision behind NU BEAUTY and what we can expect when we shop the site?

Nu Beauty allows you to escape your reality and dive into the goodness of health and wellness. We share recipes, workouts, affirmations and mantras. We clean up your skincare routine. We provide you with the tools you need to look & feel your best. From the inside, out.

The Vitamin C Serum is a best seller- give us all the details about why everyone needs to add this must-have product to their skincare routine.

Our Vitamin C serum was formulated in a way to target our most common skincare concerns while using organic and naturally sourced ingredients. Our Vitamin C is derived from the camu camu plant, which has 20x more Vitamin C than an orange. The combination of Vitamin C, Hyaluronic Acid, Collagen and Aloe diminishes acne scars, hyperpigmentation, dark spots, fine lines, wrinkles, sun damage, melasma, redness… I can go on. She really does it all!

You recently launched a new Face Cleanser- so exciting! Tell us all about this brand new product.

This cleanser is everything you didn’t know you needed. Our hero 3 ingredients are Glycolic Acid, Salicylic Acid, and Jojoba Beads, which is a blend of chemical and physical exfoliants. Sounds scary but it’s such a gentle formula that aids the skin cell renewal process. Our formula is anti-ageing, removes dead skin cells, decreases oil recreation and reduces inflammation and redness. Leaving you with healthier and even skin!

What’s next for NU BEAUTY?

I just want to go with the flow and follow the path of least resistance. I truly believe that if it feels right then it’s the next right step for us – that could mean more formulas, tools…. who knows! Stay tuned 🙂
