The Miraj Hammam Spa by Caudalie Paris transports visitors to another world with their myriad of services in an enchanting environment. As the season’s transition, help your skin adjust with a customizable treatment at the spa, located within The Shangri-La, Toronto. With several facials available, Miraj has something for every skin type, so you leave feeling refreshed and glowing. The ambience of the space helps you to step away from reality temporarily as you lose yourself in your surroundings. This spa is about so much more than just the treatments; it rejuvenates your spirit.

I spent an afternoon at the Miraj last week and loved the environment so much that I didn’t want to leave. In fact, after my facial had ended, I curled up in the co-ed relaxation lounge with my latest read. The entire spa is designed with a Moroccan oasis in mind with each area carefully designed to reflect that.

Upon arrival, an attendant escorted me to the change rooms where I put on one of the plushest robes. The change rooms are spacious and stocked with Caudalie and R&CO products. The facialist then greeted me and walked me over to a dimly lit room adorned with Moroccan screen dividers. I slipped out of my robe and lay face up on a heated bed under a warm blanket. The facialist returned and began the Caudalie Grand Facial on me. This is one of the brands most popular treatments and while the price point may seem a little higher than some other spas, it’s well worth it. On top of the facialist working her magic on your skin, she massages you from head to toe. Starting with your feet, legs and arms and then ending at your shoulders, neck and scalp.

During the facial the esthetician meticulously worked on my skin using some of Caudalie’s favourite products. The ingredient names that jumped out were reservatol and polyphenol-C – great for brightening the skin and protecting it, respectively. She then applied two different types of masks and covered my face in Caudalie’s Grape Water. I can’t recall the exact names of the masks due to my deep state of relaxation (I was in between dreaming and being awake about 5 minutes in – yes it’s that good). But one of the masks was hydrating while I believe, the other was made with glycolic acid. She then placed the steamer close to my face as she began the massage. The rest of the treatment continued on rather dreamily and again probably due to how relaxed I was. The esthetician then completed the treatment with a Light Stim treatment, which uses LED lights to reduce the apperance of fine lines and wrinkles.

The facial left my skin feeling plump and glowing, and smelling delicious. The Grand Facial is known for restoring “moisture levels in the skin” and “accelerating cellular renewal.” Two effects vital for youthful skin when you’re living in the city. The facial is also suited for all skin types and is customized to fulfill your specific needs. As mentioned above, I topped off my experience by laying in the lounge with an herbal tea and some baklava. The Miraj Hammam Spa by Caudalie is the perfect gift to give to someone you care about – yourself included. Treat yourself to the ultimate break from our often hectic lifestyles with a day at the Miraj; you can thank me later.
