Quick Synopsis (Series)

In the aftermath of WW1 in Birmingham UK, Thomas Shelby and his brothers make a name for themselves. They are gangsters who hide razor blades in their hats! The gang that he leads controls the city and Tommy is on a quest to conquer more than just Birmingham. Although Tommy’s character is fictional, the gang he governs is actually based on reality. They were active in the city from the 1880s to the 1910s. 

Overview of Season Six (*Spoiler Alert*)

Peaky Blinders season five left fans on the edge of their seat. The fifth season ended with the biggest cliffhanger in the show’s history. The show cuts to black just after Tommy Shelby approaches the camera screaming at his dead wife and dead horse, while holding a gun to his own head. Viewers were left wondering what happens next! Did he lose his mind? Will he shoot himself? Well he definitely didn’t shoot himself so we can finally sleep easy knowing that that’s out of the realm of possibilities. It is clear that Tommy is mentally broken and season six will see this play out. 

Viewers are also still wondering who betrayed Tommy. Director Anthony Burn says that these cliffhangers are purposeful: “If Tommy doesn’t know, we shouldn’t know. And at that point everything is unravelling and we should be unravelling because we don’t understand what is happening.”

No! Show creator Steven Knight says that a final movie following the sixth season will wrap up the series. He spoke to Deadline about this: “…my plan from the beginning was to end Peaky with a movie.”
