On May 4th, coinciding with Star Wars Day, Disney+ released a brand new trailer for the new Obi-Wan Kenobi series. Alongside it is a number of key arts that give fans a glimpse of what’s to come to the Star Wars universe. Although the limited series is a prequel, it is still a good addition to the story.

Obi-Wan Kenobi Timeline

The story begins at the 10-year mark after the events that transpired in Star Wars: Episode III— Revenge of the Sith (2005). It follows the main character, Obi-Wan Kenobi and his life as a Jedi in exile. If you recall from the Episode III movie, the Jedi were destroyed by Kenobi’s former friend and apprentice, Anakin Skywalker. Obviously, this is no longer a spoiler (but if it is for you, then you are way too late and there is nothing else I can do for you) but when Anakin Skywalker became (or shall I say, rebranded) himself as the Sith Lord Darth Vader, he made the Sith Inquisitor program where it hunts down surviving Jedi after Order 66.

This is where the Obi-Wan’s story comes in. Perhaps feeling guilty and responsible for Anakin’s downfall, Kenobi lives in solitary at Tatooine in order to watch over a young Luke Skywalker. He hides there in exile while secretly watching Darth Vader’s offspring, but as the show progressed, our main hero leaves Tatooine and soon embarks on new adventures.
