Prime Video reveals the new official trailer for Undone Season 2. More on about the second season, the premiere date, and the official trailer below.

Amazon’s Prime Video is back with the second season of Undone. The adult animated original series returns to your screens after two and a half years! Yes, it has been that long! The first season of Undone premiered last September 2019 with eight mind-bending episodes. Fortunately for fans, the second season—which is packed with more mind-bending time and psychological drama—will return to the streaming site at the end of April 2022. However, before we discuss what is next for Undone, let us first recap the happenings in season one since it has been two and a half years after all.
Undone Season 1 Recap
Undone is a genre-bending animated drama-comedy from the same creators of the widely-acclaimed adult animated Netflix show, BoJack Horseman. The series centers on the twenty-eight-year-old Alma who is living a sort-of unhappy life. At the beginning of the series, Alma laments about her life and relationships both with her boyfriend and family. She questions whether she will ever be happy like her newly engaged sister, Becca. These tumultuous emotions push Alma and Becca into a fight causing Alma to drive in a distressed state. Then, the crying and distressed Alma is too distressed that she accidentally runs a red light and gets into a near-fatal car accident.

The show reveals that before the car crash, Alma sees a vision of her late father who has been dead for over twenty years. After waking up at the hospital, Alma starts to see more of her father, Jacob, who then reveals to Alma that his death was not an accident, but rather, a homicide. Jacob also reveals that Alma is capable of time-travelling, a rare skill she inherited from her ancestors. Jacob then helps Alma to explore this new skill of hers and to use it to save his untimely death. The main problem, however, is that no one in Alma’s present life believes her. Instead, they insist that she is mentally ill like her father.
Undone explores the “elastic nature of reality,” all the while making it visually interesting through rotoscope animation. Watch the season 1 recap, HERE.
What To Expect in Season 2

Season 1 ended with a bit of a cliffhanger (I know, tragic), but luckily season 2 will finally answer the questions fans are itching to know. For Undone’s second season, Alma is no longer alone with her time-travelling exploration. This time, her sister Becca joins her in moving through time and space with the hopes of unearthing more of their family secrets. The trailer—which was first revealed at the show’s panel at WonderCon 2022—shows the sisters’ multiple attempts at visiting the past. As they search for answers, they unravel complex memories that shaped who they are today. The two begin to realize that this could be a way for them to heal their family trauma and move on to better lives.
The second season, though it sticks to the same artistic style as the previous season, shows a trippier and more immersive animation style. The series’ director Hisko Hulsing (Cobain: Montage of Heck) utilizes a variety of mediums (like an oil painting on canvas) to achieve the almost-realistic style of the show. The Amsterdam-based animation studio Submarine brought a team of artists and painters from Europe to bring the animation elements to life. Meanwhile, Austin-based animation studio Minnow Mountain (A Scanner Darkly) handled the rotoscoping elements.

The Cast of Undone
The main cast of Undone consists of Rosa Salazar (Bird Box) as Alma Winograd-Diaz; Angelique Cabral (Life in Pieces) as Becca Winograd-Diaz; Constance Marie (George Lopez) as Camila Diaz; and Bob Odenkirk (Better Call Saul) as Jacob Winograd. Joining them are Daveed Diggs (Hamilton) and Siddharth Dhananjay (Bloodshot).
Show creators Kate Purdy and Raphael Bob-Waksberg serve as executive producers. Noel Bright, Steven A. Cohen, Tommy Pallotta, Femke Wolting, Bruno Felix, and Hisko Hulsing also act as executive producers of the show. Amazon Studios and Tornante Productions are the main studios behind Undone.
Undone Season Two Premiere Date
All eight episodes of Undone’s second season will premiere on Friday, April 29, 2022, exclusively on Prime Video.
