A show that is able to capture past, present and future.

Isabel Marant translates ambiguity into stunning silhouettes, colours and prints, as described in the brand’s latest collection video for Paris Fashion Week. The collection is described as being a vision of the past and a projection of the future as the audience takes a trip through time with the collection’s contrast between raw materials and precious details, in which the true versatility of the pieces is highlighted throughout.

In fusing outdoor space with the industrial look of the building in which the show is being shot, the models are able to inject a sense of life and vibrancy into the collection. Strong prints and rich, bold colours perfectly contrast the setting of the show and allow the pieces to shine.

The brand is known for creating pieces for women in real life that are “walking down the street or zipping off a scooter” – and the designer remains authentic to her practice, trying on everything in her collections before it leaves the studio. Each of the pieces in this collection is boho-chic, mainly drawing on vintage silhouettes (high necklines, shoulder pads) to make a 21st-century statement.

The retro-look of the collection is complemented by a fresh colour palette of bright hues and bold accessories, which bring a sense of modernity to the look and feel of the collection. Some of our favourite looks feature a strong mix of past and present- we especially love how the brand successfully integrates leather and florals into the same look for vintage and feminine, yet edgy vibe and how, in this day and age, outerwear is highlighted as a way to tie the overall look of an outfit together.

For Isabel Marant’s Fall-Winter 21 collection, past and present have truly come together to make the future of fashion.
