BolehMusic (December 2020)

Disney+ is the platform that will bring to the small screen The Beatles: Get Back documentary series, a production by Walt Disney Studios, Apple Corps Ltd. and WingNut Films Productions Ltd.

It is produced by Clare Olssen (They Shall Not Grow Old) and Jonathan Clyde (Eight Days a Week) and directed by the three-time Oscar-winning filmmaker Peter Jackson (Lord of the Rings, King Kong).

Jackson has spent the last three years reviewing a great amount of unique and original footage, dedicating plenty of work into restoring and editing the whole 60 hours of never-before-seen footage and 150 hours of unheard audios, which will give us all a very close look at the lives of our favourite band.

The director was the first person in 50 years to have access to this private material, all of which has been greatly restored. The documentary is being made with the collaboration of Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Yoko Ono Lennon and Olivia Harrison.

Vital Thrills (June 2021)

“I’m very grateful to The Beatles, Apple Corps and Disney for allowing me to present this story in exactly the way it should be told. I’ve been immersed in this project for nearly three years, and I’m very excited that audiences around the world will finally be able to see it”, he said.

“As a huge Beatles fan myself, I am absolutely thrilled that Disney+ will be the home for this extraordinary documentary series by the legendary filmmaker Peter Jackson,” said Bob Iger, Executive Chairman and Chairman of the Board, The Walt Disney Company.

The material includes some of the band’s intimate recording sessions, the camaraderie and brainstorms of the foursome, the preparation of their first live show in over two years, the writing and rehearsing of 14 new songs, their last live performance as a group at the rooftop concert on London’s Savile Row, and lots more special moments.
