As we age, we all start to develop wrinkles, crows feet, age spots and other skin blemishes on our faces. It’s only natural and it’s absolutely not something you should be ashamed about. But it is something you can improve! It doesn’t have to cost thousands and it doesn’t have to be done outside the home, though you might choose to have professional help. Here are the top 4 gadgets and procedures for treatment, in no particular order.

Microdermabrasion:

Microdermabrasion is a mildly invasive treatment where the skin is gently sanded away to allow the skin under to come through, leaving you looking younger and rejuvenated.

It may sound painful and a bit over the top, but is absolutely safe. It’s a great treatment for wrinkles, age spots, acne scarring and crows feet.

The American society of plastic Surgeons have estimated that it only costs about $137 on average for the procedure. Great value for money, and very effective.

Bear in mind you should not expose your face to sun when possible, wax or creams for 7-10 days before the procedure. Make sure you don’t use exfoliating creams any closer than 5 days to the procedure. You can, and should, discuss this all with a doctor or skin care professional before you have the procedure.

Tria beauty age-defying laser – available on Amazon:

The Tria laser, for short, is a clinically proven fraction laser designed for use at home. You use the device to send beams of light at the crows feet and other wrinkles, the production of collagen is stimulated and the wrinkles are strongly diminished. The Tria is even good for use by men or women.

There are, however, some downsides. It costs about $430 on Amazon. It can be quite painful too, you are shooting a laser into your face after all. Be prepared to endure the pain for a while too, it can take weeks even months for you to see noticeable progress. And even then there is no guarantee it’ll work. The Tria laser just isn’t effective for everyone, unfortunately.

Be very careful using this product around your eyes, youcould damage them greatly if you aren’t giving the process 100% of your attention.

Silk’n faceFX anti-aging device:

In a lot of ways the silk’n faceFX is the opposite of the other devices. It’s far more affordable, being available for only $150. It’s also much more widely reported as being a relaxing process rather than an uncomfortable one.

This product is far easier to use and the results are much faster. Great! Except…

Takes a lot of time daily to be effective, despite it showing signs of improvement to your crows feet and other wrinkles or age spots much faster. Again, this gadget may not be effective for everyone. It’s not cordless, the cord is rather too short so you might find it less than convenient to use. Lastly the product has a poor shelf life. So you may save money in the short term, but will end up paying more over the long run.

NuFace Trinity facial trainer:

Just like the Tria, the NuFace costs about $430 on Amazon. Rather than using a laser the Trinity facial trainer uses micro electric currents.

The NuFace improves skin elasticity and rejuvenates it, great for crows feet. Again you need to be careful around the eyes. But it’s well worth the risk, giving a revitalised, brightened, more awake looking face.

Again, people have complained of discomfort from the micro currents. That means this product might not be for you. If you do decide however to give it a try, be sure to keep in mind many people have reported having issues with the charger failing. Which is disappointing when spending $430!

In conclusion:

In conclusion, it all comes down to you. What your price range is and how comfortable you feel having a procedure done. If you don’t feel comfortable or aren’t able to have the microdermabrasion procedure, it probably comes down to whether or not you’ll gamble on the Silk’n FaceFX. It’s much cheaper and much more pleasant feeling but you may have to replace it and there is still no guarantee it’ll help you with your crows feet, age spots and other wrinkles.
