Tell us all about DermaTech Skincare and how we can bring the spa home to us?
When establishments closed down due to COVID-19, I was on the lookout for an alternative to spas and ways to practice self-care. I had just graduated from my undergrad and found myself constantly stressing about something, whether it be finding a job or wondering when everything would go back to normal. Given that I was a 22-year-old recent grad, I was also on a budget. This kick-started my hunt for good-quality, simple spa devices that I could use at home. Seeing the lack of options available, I decided to start DermaTech Skincare.
Through simple skincare technology and drawing from luxurious spa treatments, DermaTech Skincare provides spa-like treatment kits for millennials on a budget. Our convenient devices allow you to treat yourself to a customized spa treatment from the comfort of your own home.
How important is it to take time to indulge in a self-care routine?
In the busy world that we live in today, indulging in a good self-care routine has become more important than ever. Self-care can be used to decrease stress, increase positive emotions, build confidence, and maintain a healthy relationship with yourself because, at the end of the day, the only person who is going to take care of you is you! It can include anything from getting a massage to working out to trying out a new skincare product. Here are some simple self-care ideas that we’d love to share: get moving (run, walk, stretch), read a good book, start journaling, listen to music, have a warm bath, do something creative (paint, draw, write), practice mindfulness, meditate, make and eat a healthy meal, get at least 8 hours of sleep, and last but not least, give yourself a spa day at home.
You recently launched a new permanent hair removal kit- can you tell us more about it?
Yes, the IPL At-Home Hair Removal Kit – used for permanent hair removal – just launched on June 1st. This kit uses IPL (intense pulsed light) technology, giving you a treatment that is very similar to laser, using light energy to target the melanin in your hair follicles, and preventing regrowth over time. Our device can be used in multiple places from your legs to your underarms to your bikini line.
The device uses quick-flashing technology, making your treatments as convenient as possible. You can choose either manual flash and auto-flash, depending on how you want to use the device. With 999,999 flashes, you’ll have more than enough flashes to achieve permanent hair removal in all the spots you want! If you follow our treatment plan, using the product 2-3 times a week, you’ll notice your first permanent results in just 2-3 weeks and complete results in roughly 8-12 weeks.
What are the benefits of investing in a DermaTech Skincare product?
Each product allows you to give yourself a treatment that spas provide, all from the comfort of your own home. This decreases your costs and allows you to have more spa sessions without having to break the bank. What does the future hold for DermaTech as a brand?
The plan for DermaTech as a brand is to continue to bring in new, versatile, at-home skincare technology products for everyone to enjoy from the comfort of their own home! While we still enjoy in-person spa treatments, we want everyone to be able to experience a little spa-like self-care session at home. Ultimately, we want our customers to be able to purchase anything and everything they need to have a full at-home spa day.
