It’s no secret that every summer a certain outfit or look tends to trend. For women this year, it’s slip dresses, blazers, anything white and floral and feminine. But when it comes to men’s styles, we are seeing the Tan France effect in full force.

If you aren’t familiar with Tan France, I feel sorry for you. He is one of the Fab 5 from Netflix’s reboot of ‘Queer Eye,’ a program where 5 gay men help a man better himself through grooming, styling, confidence, cooking and revamping his living space. Tan France has made his mark on the show by consistently delivering chic, accessible looks that people can put together on their own. A huge staple in his styling collection? Bright prints and patterns.

A bright top seems to be the key to completing a compliment-able look. Whatever colour you choose – from red to yellow or blue – can easily be paired with a neutral like denim, khaki, black or brown.

Breaking up your floral with a neutral tank or t-shirt underneath is also a great option and helps to ease your way into the trend. While we’ll never tell you to throw away your basic white and black tees, prints for summer simply make the most sense. In Canada, we truly only get 3 months of warm weather – max. So why not make the best of it and live life in colour?

Topman has some incredible pieces that we love. You can check out this red floral here, this berry toned shirt here, and this more neutral print here. Topshop and Topman currently have a Spend More, Save More promotion until the end of August where they’ll give you a chunk of your overall spending back if you spend a certain amount.  Stock up on your floral favourites while you can!
