Ranked one of the top Christmas markets in the world, the Toronto Christmas Market brings the holiday spirit back to the historic Distillery District for the 9th annual Christmas Market.

Ah Christmas, inarguably the best time of the year. Cold weather, staying cozy indoors, gifts, dinners, bonding with family and friends — who doesn’t love all of this? ‘Tis the season, and the magic of the Toronto Christmas Market is definitely the cherry on top every holiday season as it sparks up excitement for the actual event with it’s cute decor, stores, and holiday – oriented activities.

Whether going to cozy up beside a fire over a spiked hot chocolate with your loved one or to watch the entertainment specials with the whole family, the market offers the perfect festive experience for everyone to enjoy.

Little ones, whether on two legs or four paws, can take a picture with Santa Claus — that’s right, your furry children can [on designated nights] take a cute picture with Jolly Old Saint Nicholas too! Dog Moms and Dog Dads, it’s your chance to get the cutest Christmas card picture around!

DECORATIONS

As per tradition, the focal point of the Market is the giant real Christmas tree beautifully decorated with warm glowing lights, golden ribbon, and giant red ornaments. Sparkling light canopies and seasonal decor take over the district and make you feel like you’re stepping out of Toronto and into a Hallmark Christmas movie.

FOOD & DRINK

Hang out under the heat lamps to stay toasty as you sip on tasty holiday drinks at the Naughty or Nice bar in the beer garden.

As you walk around you might start to get a bit hungry from wandering through all the food vendors. Grab a turkey leg, poutine, or schnitzel to chow down on. Having a bit of a sweet tooth? Devour some mini donuts or chimney cones! Need to sit down and take it easy? Head to the fondue tent or Whiskey Wonderland bar. Since this is the Distillery District there are also a ton of great restaurants if you’re craving a full blown meal.

GIFTS

Cross buying some gifts off your list as you browse through the holiday vendors filled with handcrafted ornaments, products, and toys. The homemade fudge and fine chocolates are great host gifts. The soaps and hand creams make for the perfect stocking stuffers. Doing a workplace Secret Santa? You can never go wrong with gifting a beautifully scented candle.  You can also buy shaving gift sets and spa products to pamper your friends! You’ll be sure to get inspired and get into the holiday gift giving mood.

Admission is free during the week days and costs $6 on the weekends. Make sure to grab your tickets online in advance if you’re planning on visiting Friday through Sunday to avoid a line at the ticket counter! Santa will be packing up his sleigh and heading out to make all of his deliveries as of the 23rd so make sure to go visit him and his elves at the Toronto Christmas Market soon!
