During this year’s Volksgiving, Volkswagen Canada is celebrating owners with a special story to tell… and the odometer to prove it.

Volkswagen Canada has officially launched the brand’s annual Volksgiving campaign, which aims to acknowledge and give back to VW Owners who have made a difference in their community- this includes highlighting owners across Canada who have gone the extra distance to make a change, support communities and help grow a sustainable environment, all behind the wheel of their Volkswagen.

Over the past three years, Volkswagen Canada has celebrated owners across Canada as part of their Volksgiving campaign, in which the brand surprised them with a special experience as thank you for their patronage, community contributions, and essential service work.

Whether they’ve helped build community gardens, run marathons or provide humanitarian aid, these are the owners who have worked and traveled far and wide to support their community. As a result, Volkswagen wants to reward them with a small but significant gesture to recognize their selflessness, as well as their commitment, since they made an effort to do good, and provide a sustainable experience for those around them.

In order to celebrate, Volkswagen Canada surprised each owner with a once-in-a-lifetime gift, in which they sent him or her on a dream trip to destinations such as Europe, California, NYC, and even a golf tour to The Masters.

“There’s something unique and different about Volkswagen drivers; they continuously strive to make a positive difference in the world we live in,” says Lynne Piette, Volkswagen’s Director of Marketing. “This year, we wanted to celebrate our Volkswagen owners who go the extra distance in their Volkswagen vehicles to help bring communities together, make Canada a more inclusive country, and create a sustainable future for everyone. To celebrate their selfless efforts, we wanted to give them a fun and special experience they won’t forget!”

Below are a few heartwarming stories to check out from owners across Ontario:

Samantha P from Toronto, ON is a dedicated and passionate early childhood educator who drives a 3-hour commute to teach. For her, going the extra distance means doing everything she can to be the best teacher.

Sheilagh H. from Brechin, ON has traveled the globe to provide humanitarian aid, including support in Kabul, Afghanistan on a peacekeeping mission.

Henry S. from Oakville, ON purchased a Tiguan to bring his father to appointments after he was diagnosed with cancer. Every kilometre on his Tiguan brings memories of the time they had together and the importance of family.
