The popular series Yellowstone is officially ending. Its fifth and last season is set to launch in November, Variety notes. However, there is also good news! Paramount announced that a sequel is set to launch in December, first on Paramount Network and then on Paramount+, the source adds.

Yellowstone has been the cornerstone on which we have launched an entire universe of global hits — from 1883 to Tulsa King, and I am confident our Yellowstone sequel will be another big hit, thanks to the brilliant creative mind of Taylor Sheridan and our incredible casts who bring these shows to life,” a statement of MTV Entertainment Studios CEO, Chris McCarthy, reads.

“The Dutton story continues, picking up where Yellowstone leaves off in another epic tale. We are thrilled to bring this new journey to audiences around the world,” CEO of 101 Studios, David Glasser, said about the sequel.

Why is Yellowstone ending?

Recently, actor Kevin Costner was rumored to be soon leaving the series as he had no more time to continue filming Yellowstone. However, the rumors were shortly denied by Costners attorney. “The idea that Kevin was only willing to work one week on the second half of season five of Yellowstone is an absolute lie.” the representative said, as mentioned here.

Others thought that Costners confirmed divorce from his wife, Christine Baumgartner, has led to the end of the series, People writes here. However, an insider told the outlet that their divorce “has nothing to do with Yellowstone“. “The two situations are unrelated.” the person added.
