New drama series adds acclaimed actors to lead roles alongside Alison Brie

October 2, 2025: FX’s upcoming drama pilot, Witness Protection, has cast Finn Wittrock and Ashley Thomas as series regulars, joining Alison Brie in the lead roles. The project is a contemporary reinterpretation of an unproduced script by David Chase, creator of The Sopranos, and is being developed by writers and executive producers Hannah Fidell and Gina Welch.

Cast and Characters

Alison Brie stars as Remy, a high-end D.C. madam who enters witness protection in seaside Maine with her teenage daughter following a violent confrontation.

Finn Wittrock portrays Remy’s sophisticated yet exploitative former business partner, adding complexity and tension to the narrative.

Ashley Thomas plays Isaac, a tough yet sympathetic FBI handler assigned to protect Remy, navigating the intricacies of the witness protection program.

Production Details

The pilot is currently in production in coastal Maine locations. Additional cast members include Pablo Schreiber, Zoë Chao, Jamie Neumann, Antonella Rose, and Aidan Gillen. David Chase was originally attached as co-creator and executive producer but has since departed due to scheduling conflicts. Hannah Fidell and Gina Welch now serve as co-showrunners and executive producers.
