Stranger Things Star and Hamnet’s Noah Jupe Lead Robert Icke’s New Production

Sadie Sink Secures Dream West End Debut

November 18, 2025: Stranger Things breakout star Sadie Sink is set to make her highly anticipated West End debut next year, starring as Juliet in a new production of Shakespeare’s enduring tragedy, Romeo & Juliet. The announcement, made today, confirms that Sink will star opposite British film actor Noah Jupe (known for A Quiet Place and the upcoming film Hamnet), who will make his professional stage debut as Romeo.

The play will run at the Harold Pinter Theatre for a strictly limited 12-week season, starting March 16, 2026, and running until June 6, 2026.

Acclaimed Director Robert Icke at the Helm

Directing this highly-anticipated revival is the Olivier Award-winning writer and director Robert Icke. Icke is celebrated for his bold, contemporary reinterpretations of classic texts, including Oedipus and Hamlet.

The production marks a return to Shakespeare’s tale of the star-crossed lovers for Icke, whose previous staging was critically acclaimed for its use of a digital clock that counted down to the lovers’ fatal ending—a feature designed to heighten the story’s themes of time, fate, and tragic inevitability.

The Stars Speak on the “Exciting Challenge”

Sadie Sink, who rose to fame as Max Mayfield on the Netflix hit Stranger Things and earned a recent Tony Award nomination for her Broadway performance in John Proctor Is the Villain, expressed her excitement:

“I was a Broadway kid, so I’ve always dreamed about doing a show in the West End. To get to do that in one of Shakespeare’s most famous plays under Rob’s direction with Noah will be such an exciting challenge. London theatre has this incredible energy, and I can’t wait to be a part of it.”

Noah Jupe echoed this sentiment, calling the combination of the role, director, and co-star “an opportunity you simply cannot turn down.”

The casting of these two young, acclaimed screen actors for the title roles ensures that the limited run will be one of the most in-demand tickets of the 2026 London theatre season.
