This is the first public response from Butker regarding his controversial speech made at Benedictine College, where he mentioned things such as gender roles, Pride Month- even quoting teammate Travis Kelce’s girlfriend Taylor Swift’s song at one point. His speech caused widespread divide online and sparked controversy, with Kelce weighing in on his thoughts recently as well.
Harrison Butker Speech
During this new speech, Butker claims, “Over the past few days, my beliefs or what people think I believe have been the focus of countless discussions around the globe.” In fact, Butker commits strongly to his original words in his commencement speech, by stating the following in his new speech:
“The more I’ve talked about what I value most, which is my Catholic faith, the more polarizing I have become. It’s a decision I’ve consciously made, and one I do not regret at all.”
