Sabrina Carpenter has revealed why she casted her alleged boyfriend Barry Keoghan as her love interest in the viral “Please Please Please” music video.
October 7th, 2024- Sabrina Carpenter recently revealed the story behind casting her alleged boyfriend, Barry Keoghan, in one of her latest music videos “Please Please Please” to CBS Sunday Morning’s Tracy Smith.

Speaking with Smith, the “Taste” singer admitted that while her choice to cast Keoghan may have seemed biased, it was actually Keoghan’s talent that sealed the deal.
“I, genuinely – like, a not-even-biased-opinion – I was like, ‘Who’s the greatest actor that I can find for this music video?’ And he was next to me in a chair,” Carpenter told Smith.
“And he was so excited about it. And he likes the son, which is great. He’s a fan of the song,” Carpenter continued.
Carpenter also mentioned that Keoghan “does like my music a lot, yeah.”
According to PEOPLE, a source previously described Carpenter and Keoghan’s relationship as “on-and-off” since the pair first sparked dating rumors in 2023.

Jenna Ortega, who starred in Carpenter’s newest music video for “Taste,” recently told Capital how she ended up landing the role.
“She just texted me and she sent me the information,” Ortega told Capital.
“And I had one day off in LA and I wasn’t going to do anything, I was going to rest because we were doing [Beetlejuice] press and shooting season 2 of Wednesday but Sabrina has also been so kind and generous towards me even when no one cared, I’ve known her since I was 12 and we get along really well and she’s a friend,” Ortega continued.
“So I was like, ‘Yeah of course I’ll do this for you’ I feel like she’d do the same for me but it was just so much fun. It’s nice when you do things like that, it doesn’t feel like work,” Ortega said.
