Skinimalism, a play on skin and minimalism, is the practice of using the bare minimum number of products to benefit your skin. Skinimalism combines skincare and make-up for the best of both worlds.

Up until the pandemic, a rigorous, multi-step, skincare routine was a rising trend. Instagram was flooded with influencer’s “My Nightly Skincare Routine” videos, describing their elaborate skin care regimen. YouTube had video after video of make-up artists showing you how to create looks with 20-30 different products. Recently there has been a push to end complex skincare and make-up routines. The latest trend ‘Skinimalism’ focuses on simpler treatments with natural looks that allow your pores, blemishes, wrinkles, and textures to shine. You may ask yourself, what products do I use and how do I achieve the ‘No Make-Up’ look? Well look no further, here are a few tips and tricks for you!

Hydrate your Skin

The ‘No Make-Up’ look is all about having glowing, natural skin. The easiest way to achieve this? Have healthy skin! Keeping your skin hydrated is essential. Under-eye hydration masks and a good moisturizer are your best friend.

Minimal Coverage

You will want to stay away from thick foundations. Some good options would be tinted moisturizers, BB and CC creams, and concealer. Less is more!

Bronzer, Bronzer, Bronzer

Bronzer is your secret weapon to achieving an all-year-round healthy glow. Apply bronzer to the hollow of your cheekbones and on your temples. If you want to go a step further, invest in a cream bronzer. Cream bronzers tend to have a more natural look that blends.

Dew is your New Best Friend

A touch of shine to the top of your cheekbones can go a long way in making your face look natural but still dewy. Instead of doing a shimmery highlighter, opt for a cream with a clear base. The creamy texture will blend in perfectly with the rest of your face. Dab it on gently with your fingers and you’re good to go!

Flushed with Blush

A blushed look to the skin is natural and unpolished looking. Achieve this look by adding a cream blush to the apples of your cheeks and the bridge of your nose.

Brows

One of the best parts of the ‘No Make-Up’ look is the brows. Say goodbye to harshly lined brows and hello to bushy brows. Enhance your brows by using a brow gel, with a fiber wand, brushing them up to create a bushy and unruly look.

Curl Your Lashes

As for your eyes, curl your lashes! Invest in an eyelash curler and that is all you need. Say goodbye to caked on mascara.

Follow these steps to have your glowiest and healthiest skin!
