Taylor Swift is “completely in shock” after a stabbing at a Swift-themed dancing class left three children dead in the UK.
July 30, 2024- Singer Taylor Swift has come forward to express her deepest sympathies for the victims of the attack at a Taylor Swift themed dance class in Southport, England.
Southport Stabbing Suspect
An unidentified male suspect, armed with a knife, entered the dance class and murdered three young girls and injured nine others on Monday, July 29th.
The identity of the suspect has circulated on the internet, but it is currently unknown as the Southport Police are still investigating the incident.
“The horror of yesterday’s attack in Southport is washing over me continuously and I’m just completely in shock,” Swift said.
“The loss of life and innocence, and the horrendous trauma inflicted on everyone who was there, the families, and first responders,” Swift continued.
“These were just little kids at a dance class. I am at a complete loss for how to ever convey my sympathies to these families,” Swift said.
Swifties for Southport
According to the BBC, a crowdfunding page called “Swifties for Southport” has raised more than £181,000 for Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, where many of the injured have been treated.
Protests in Southport
Merely a day after the attack, the town of Southport received a clash between the police and protesters.
Just after a vigil was held for the victims of the Southport attack, an angry crowd protested against the police as it is speculated that the police are purposely withholding the name of the attacker.
According to Fox News, at least 11 police officers are being treated for injuries related to the Southport riots and one police van has been set ablaze by the crowds.
