Jets Fire Robert Saleh in a Somewhat Surprising, But Expected Move.
October 9, 2024- The New York Jets reported today that they have fired their head coach Robert Saleh. During his tenure with the Jets, Saleh has gone 20-36.
This is the first time the Jets have had a major coaching change mid-season since 1967.
After a disappointing loss to the Broncos, followed by a trip over the pond to London to another Loss against the Vikings, it seems that fans, players, and the owner Woody Johnson have had enough. Johnson stated in his release that, “We are not where we should be given our expectations.”

Salehs Troubles
Saleh was struck with a lot of horrible luck since he stepped foot into the locker room. When he first came on as coach the team had no quarterback, but had the No. 2 overall pick in the draft which they used on Zach Wilson.
Wilson turned out to be a major dud for the franchise and was later traded to the Broncos.
Then, Aaron Rodgers makes the switch from Green Bay to finish his career in New York. Last season he tore his Achilles 4 plays into the season. Now with Rodgers back Saleh was 2-3 and looked as if he had “No control over the team” said Stephen A. Smith.
Saleh was reportedly “Surprised” by his termination and Fox Sports reported that he was escorted out of the building by Jets security.
Jeff Ulbrich will serve as the interim head coach in the meantime.
