OLG’s LOTTO MAX and Toronto brand Mr. Saturday have teamed up to launch their first-ever apparel collaboration, titled LOTTO MAX “Dream Drop”. This limited-edition collection features scannable pieces just like real lottery tickets and is redeemable for one Lotto Max ticket a week for a full year.

The launch received an overwhelming amount of attention, with hoodies selling out in 11 minutes and 90% of the collection selling out in 24 hours! Since OLG is all about giving back, as part of this collection launch, 100% of proceeds from LOTTO MAX “Dream Drop” sales – an incredible $56,000, thanks to Ontarians – will go towards Toronto-based not-for-profit BLACK HXOUSE.

Talk to us about the limited-edition LOTTO MAX “Dream Drop” collection and the pieces available.

Mr. Saturday: We were approached by OLG and LOTTO MAX to work with them on their first-ever clothing collaboration called LOTTO MAX “Dream Drop.” The idea was to create the first clothing line that’s also your lottery ticket for a year. Each piece in the collection is scannable, just like a real lottery ticket, and is good for one $5 LOTTO MAX ticket per week, for one full year – or a $260 value.

This is a project that I was really excited about from the start and I’m really grateful for the support it’s gotten, both from our community and OLG’s. The collection sold out really quickly; the hoodies sold out in 11 minutes and most of the collection sold out in 24 hours. I’m also really happy to say that 100% of OLG proceeds are donated to BLACK HXOUSE, an organization close to me. We were able to raise $56,000 for BLACK HXOUSE through collection sales.

  • The Mr. Saturday x Lotto Max “Dream Drop” collection includes:
  • Hoodie — $200 ea.
  • Sweatpants — $200 ea.
  • Coaches Jacket — $200 ea.
  • Combo Pack: T-shirt, Hat, Socks — $200 per set
  • Each piece came with a $260 CAD Bonus Code for a year’s worth of LOTTO MAX Tickets redeemable at OLG.ca (1 play per week for a year)*

*Terms and Conditions apply. Each item in the collection displays a Code redeemable on OLG.ca for one $260.00 CAD Lottery Bonus credited to a Player Account (which is approximately equal to 1 LOTTO MAX Ticket per week for 52 weeks). Must be 18+ years of age and an Ontario resident located in the province during participation. Must redeem Code by May 30, 2022. Visit OLG.ca/DreamDrop for more details.

Where did the inspiration behind the drop come from?

Mr. Saturday: I was immediately intrigued by the idea of working on something that at once felt so far removed and so close to fashion. I wanted to create something that mixed the rich nostalgia of the lottery’s history with the future of where it’s going and what it can do. “Thank you for dreaming” is the physical manifestation of dreaming about what we would do if we won the lottery. In some ways, we have – it was really exciting to be able to work on something of this scale and give back to an organization that consistently creates opportunities for young creatives.

Can you share more about your experience with BLACK HXOUSE and how the organization helped you early on in your career?

Mr: Saturday: I was part of the first cohort of HXOUSE, which BLACK HXOUSE is an extension of. I was trying to grow Mr. Saturday as someone outside of the arts and fashion scene in Toronto, let alone the global market. Not only did HXOUSE teach me the skills and give me the tools I needed to take the next steps in growing my brand, but they also provided me with world-class mentorship from creatives all over the world, some of whom have become close friends. Without HXOUSE, I wouldn’t be where I am today. Witnessing the programming and education that the amazing team at HXOUSE has put together for BLACK HXOUSE has been truly inspiring and I’m super grateful to be able to contribute to it.

Tell us about BLACK HXOUSE, the Toronto-Based not-for-profit, and how it aims to empower BIPOC Individuals.

BLACK HXOUSE: BLACK HXOUSE is an arm of HXOUSE, a non-profit founded by Ahmed Ismail and La Mar Taylor. The Toronto-based organization sets off on its mission to empower BIPOC Individuals with mentorship, tools, learning opportunities, network, and the freedom they need to activate their talent. Their goal is to translate this into a sustainable career that promotes industry innovation and diverse representation across multiple sectors.

OLG is all about giving back. How will the LOTTO MAX “Dream Drop” help benefit BLACK HXOUSE’s programming?

BLACK HXOUSE: 100% of all OLG proceeds are reinvested in the province to improve the quality of life for all Ontarians. This program is no different. As part of the launch, OLG donated all its proceeds from its “Dream Drop” sales – an incredible $56,000 – which will go towards Toronto-based not-for-profit BLACK HXOUSE. OLG’s donations will directly benefit the organization’s programming, including lectures and panels by world-leading creatives, in-class workshops with mentors, grants for students, a general education curriculum, and events.

And it doesn’t stop there. OLG’s commitment to supporting BIPOC Ontarians happens year-round. Beyond its BLACK HXOUSE donation, OLG has also partnered with Black Talent Initiative (BTI) to help foster Black representation in the workplace and invest in the growth of Black professionals.

BTI is a volunteer-driven, social impact organization committed to delivering professional development, mentorship, and community for Black Canadian talent seeking career advancement.
