The Kardashian star shared a sweet throwback on Instagram on Sunday to mark one year since she started working with Dolce & Gabbana to design her wedding dress for her May 2022 nuptials.

The photo carousel gives viewers a peek at the creative process while also showcasing Kourtney Kardashian’s short, white wedding gown, which she wore to wed Travis Barker.

Pictures show Kardashian talking on Zoom calls with her team, examining pages of her veil’s inspiration, which included a sketch of Barker’s head tattoo, as well as how the dress and veil would appear on her on the big day.

In the caption, she provided even more information about the motivation behind the unique garment, writing, “The first inspiration for my dress was when Travis and I were watching Guns N’ Roses November Rain video one night before we were even engaged, and we said to each other ‘this has to be our wedding.’

She was wearing a short dress, and I thought to myself ‘I need a short dress!’ I had more visions inspired by some 1990s campaigns of Monica Bellucci shot by Helmut Newton for Blumarine,” Kountry added.

According to Page Six, the Blumarine dress was a breast-baring wedding dress that employed the corset as a push-up and only mesh to conceal the chest. Nipples out, the dress included a tiara, a long flowing veil with floral accents, and bloomers in place of a skirt.

Because she “just wanted to feel like we rushed off to Italy and got married,” Kardashian said that the wedding’s Portofino location “also inspired the emotions and feeling of the dress.” Also, a special nod to the groom was included in Kardashian’s Bellucci-esque veil.

“When @dolcegabbana suggested putting Travis’s head tattoo of the Virgin Mary on the handmade lace veil with the words from his tattoo: family, loyalty, respect underneath, I got chills and knew how special that felt,” she continued.
