Blue Origin’s All-Female Space Flight Sparks Conspiracy Theories Over Door Footage

Blue Origin All Female Crew

Blue Origin’s historic all-female spaceflight, which included celebrities like Katy Perry, Lauren Sanchez, and Gayle King, is now at the center of a growing online conspiracy theory.

While the mission was celebrated for being a milestone in commercial space travel and women’s representation in space, footage from the capsule’s landing has prompted speculation that the event may not have been entirely authentic.

Blue Origin Space Flight

According to several viral social media posts and discussions across social media, viewers claim that the capsule door appeared to open inward for a brief moment shortly after landing, before quickly being shut again.

Moments later, Blue Origin founder Jeff Bezos is seemingly seen using a specialized tool to open the hatch from the outside to greet the crew, as also noted here.

Do Rockets Have Doors That Open Inward

This inconsistency has fueled a wave of skepticism online, with some claiming the door opening inward was a sign the capsule was not sealed correctly, or worse, that the mission itself was staged. However, experts are pointing out that space capsule doors do not open inward due to the extreme pressure differential between the inside and the vacuum of space. Inward-opening doors would be unsafe and nearly impossible to operate because the pressurized cabin would push the door outward with immense force.

Instead, space capsules use outward-opening or plug-style doors that rely on internal pressure to remain sealed, making any door that appears to open inward highly unlikely in a real spacecraft scenario. It’s possible that what viewers saw was a safety check from the inside or even a moment during the depressurization process.

Was Blue Origin Space Flight Fake?

Still, Blue Origin has not publicly commented on the footage, which continues to spark debate.

While there’s no concrete evidence to support the theory that the flight was faked, the viral clip has cast a shadow over what was otherwise a successful and groundbreaking mission.
