The Grey’s Anatomy star opens up about her recent health struggles and encourages others to trust their instincts.

Camilla Luddington Gets Candid About Health Journey

August 7, 2025: Grey’s Anatomy actress Camilla Luddington is sharing a personal update with fans, revealing she was recently diagnosed with Hashimoto’s disease, an autoimmune thyroid disorder.

In a heartfelt Instagram story, Luddington said she had been feeling “slothy” for months—sluggish, foggy, and drained—before pushing for answers. “I just didn’t feel like myself,” she explained. “Even with rest, I couldn’t bounce back.”

Pushing for a Diagnosis

Despite her busy schedule, the actress said she listened to her body and sought medical help after realizing her fatigue wasn’t normal. A round of tests confirmed she had Hashimoto’s, a condition where the immune system attacks the thyroid, leading to symptoms like exhaustion, weight changes, and brain fog.

Empowering Others to Speak Up

Luddington is now on medication and working closely with her doctors. She encouraged her followers to trust their gut and advocate for themselves, especially when symptoms are brushed off as stress or overwork.

“I’m glad I kept asking questions,” she wrote. “Take care of YOU. Your health matters.”
