New Toronto Restaurants To Try

After multiple rounds of lockdowns, Toronto is on a slow path to recovery. The food and beverage industry has lost so much in the past couple of years. It’s amazing to know that most have managed to survive and it is also equally amazing, if not impressive, that the city continues to host new restaurants despite the lockdowns. If you miss going out and you are on the lookout for a cool new spot, then look no further. Below are some of the new Toronto restaurants to try this winter. Frankly, there is no better time to explore new offerings of the city than now.

Bar St. Lo

26 Market St.

Bar St. Lo is a relatively brand-new restaurant located near St. Lawrence Market. This modern Canadian restaurant first opened its doors in August of last year. Brought to you by apparel and event brand, Collectif Nude in partnership with Chef Rory McGouran and Jared Brenzel of Mascot Brewery. The restaurant’s proximity to St. Lawrence Market allows them to source their ingredients fresh off the stalls. The bar offers exciting signature cocktails and a curated wine and beer list.

MIMI Chinese

265 Davenport Rd.

MIMI Chinese came from the team behind Sunny’s Chinese. This new midtown restaurant located on the outskirts of the Yorkville neighbourhood offers dishes inspired by regional Chinese cuisines. From the restaurant interior to the signature cocktails, MIMI resembles the common Hong Kong nightlife. The menu is a collection of Chinese food staples originating from provinces like Sichuan, Guangdong, and Hunan.

Neon Tiger

14 Dupont St.

Created by the same people behind Oddseoul, Neon Tiger offers Asian-inspired cocktails and snack food. This place is ideal for a cill Saturday night out with friends. Located at 14 Dupont St., this bar is Rosedale’s little taste of Asia.

Rabbit! Rabbit! Rabbit!

461 King St. W

Rabbit! Rabbit! Rabbit! is a Southwest Cantina bar and restaurant located in Downtown Toronto. Initially opening its doors last year, this place offers a great selection of food and cocktails inspired by Text-Mex cuisine. Please do yourself a favour and try the grilled octopus. This downtown restaurant also has a western disco vibe ideal for a King West night out. If the huge disco ball in the middle of the room does not entice you to party, then their signature cocktails will surely do the trick. Once Covid restrictions finally allow us to dance, this is the place to be.
