Perrie Edwards and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain have officially confirmed their engagement. The ‘Little Mix’ singer and the professional football player made the announcement via Instagram on Saturday, June 18.

Edwards posted a bunch of photographs from the beautiful beach proposal, as well as her huge engagement ring. “Last night the love of my life got down on one knee and I said… YES!” she wrote, tagging her fiancé in the photo.

The couple has been dating since 2016. Their engagement news comes over a year after they had their first child, Axel, in August 2021. The musician shared a snapshot of her baby’s hand, ear, and foot on Instagram at the time to announce his arrival. She wrote at the moment, “Welcome to the world baby 21/08/21 ♥️

The 28-year-old also shared a photo of the stunning ring presented by the Liverpool soccer player when he went down on one knee. Perrie dressed in a black gown with a designer shawl wrapped around her shoulders. When she realized what was going on, she buried her head in her hands.

The singer received some love from her fellow Little Mix members in the comments section of her post. Jade Thirlwall and Leigh-Anne Pinnock, both from Little Mix, were among the many friends who congratulated her on the news. Jade Thirlwall left emojis, including a crying face and a red heart, and Leigh-Anne Pinnock added, “Best news! So happy for you both.”

Considering how long they’ve seen each other, it’s no surprise that the couple has been talking about marriage for a while. Chamberlain took a while to find the proper time to propose because of their busy occupations and the addition of young Axel to their family. Edwards, for one, has been planning to say yes since at least 2020 as she mentioned in the interview with Capital FM.
