Carlsberg Canada, Inc. launches the “Carlsberg Gives Back” campaign

Carlsberg Canada, Inc., the Canadian entity of Carlsberg Group, is delighted to announce its second year of partnership with Community Food Centres Canada (CFCC) for their Carlsberg Gives Back campaign. Founded in 1847, Carlsberg is now one of the world’s leading brewers.

With its initial launch in 2020 amid the pandemic, the campaign had an objective to sell 500,000 Carlsberg bottles and cans and donate $100,000.00 to equip their front-line partners with the necessary food and supplies to support low-income neighbourhoods across Canada.

“A year removed from our first Gives Back program, we still believe that making a difference in our local community is as important as ever. Since its foundation in 1847, Carlsberg has always done its part in sharing its generosity in their never-ending pursuit of betterment,” says John Porter, Managing Director of Carlsberg Canada. “It is important to contribute to local betterment, as well as giving back to those in our communities that need it most.”

CFCC’s mission is to build health, belonging, and social justice through the power of food. One of the ways they do this is through building inclusive Community Food Centres and food programs across the country. The organization has raised almost $10M to date through its Good Food Access Fund and has distributed the funds to more than 400 organizations in Canada.

“Thanks to the generous support and donation from Carlsberg Brewery early in the pandemic, thousands of Canadians had access to healthy food programs,” says Nick Saul, CEO of Community Food Centres Canada (CFCC). “This year with Carlsberg Canada’s support, we’ll continue to ensure more Canadians in low-income communities can access good food and connect with others.”

For the entire month of July, Carlsberg Canada will donate $0.20 for every Carlsberg Danish Pilsner and Carlsberg Lite bottle and can be sold in Ontario to ensure more healthy food access.
