The All My Children star opens up about her years-long ordeal with a stalker who targeted both her and her daughter with relentless harassment.
Eva LaRue Shares Harrowing Details of 12-Year Stalking Nightmare
November 11, 2025: Actress Eva LaRue, best known for her roles in All My Children and CSI: Miami, has revealed chilling details about the 12-year stalking nightmare she and her daughter, Kaya Callahan, endured. The Emmy-winning actress spoke candidly about the “sickening, terrifying threats” that haunted their lives for over a decade.
LaRue said the stalker, later identified as James David Rogers, sent hundreds of emails and letters filled with violent threats and disturbing messages. “It wasn’t just me — it was my daughter too,” LaRue explained. “He would tell us he was watching us, describe our home, and threaten to take Kaya.”
The emotional toll on the mother-daughter duo was immense. “You never really feel safe again,” she shared, describing years of anxiety, sleepless nights, and living with the constant fear of being followed.
Stalker Finally Sentenced After Years of Fear
After years of torment, Rogers was finally caught and sentenced in 2022 to more than three years in federal prison for stalking and threats. However, LaRue admitted that even after his sentencing, the trauma lingers. “He may be in jail, but those memories don’t just go away,” she said.
LaRue revealed that she and Kaya relied heavily on therapy and the support of close friends to heal from the experience. “It was a nightmare that no one should have to live through,” she added. “We had to rebuild our sense of safety and trust in people.”
Kaya’s Courage in the Face of Fear
Now 23, Kaya Callahan has also spoken out about the lasting effects of the stalking. She recalled growing up in constant fear, unable to feel safe at home or school. “It’s something that shaped my entire childhood,” she said. Despite the trauma, Kaya has used her experience to advocate for stronger anti-stalking laws and better protection for victims.
Raising Awareness and Moving Forward
Eva LaRue hopes that by sharing their story, others will feel empowered to speak up and seek help. “Stalking is not harmless — it’s psychological warfare,” she emphasized. “No one should feel alone in it.”
The actress continues to work in Hollywood but says she takes extra precautions to protect her privacy. Both she and Kaya have turned their painful experience into a message of strength, resilience, and survival — showing that even in the darkest circumstances, healing is possible.
