Pahalgam Terror Attack: Kashmiri Men Linked to Pakistan Suspected Among Terrorists
April 23, 2025: Tensions remain high in Jammu and Kashmir after a brutal terror attack in Pahalgam left several tourists dead. Authorities have now identified two Kashmiri men who reportedly traveled to Pakistan in 2018 as suspects connected to the attack. Based on eyewitness accounts, the Jammu and Kashmir Police have also released sketches of three Pakistani nationals believed to have carried out the assault.
Details of the Attack
The attack took place in the popular tourist destination of Pahalgam, an area usually known for its breathtaking landscapes and peaceful atmosphere. According to reports, the terrorists opened fire on a group of visiting tourists, leading to multiple casualties and injuries.
As many as 26 people were killed in the terror attack, which specifically targeted male tourists who were singled out based on their religion. Panic gripped the area as local authorities rushed to secure the region and assist victims.

Suspects Identified
Police sources revealed that two Kashmiri men, who crossed over into Pakistan for arms training in 2018, are now suspected to have aided or participated in the attack. Officials believe they either directly joined the assault team or provided critical logistical support. Their identities are being closely guarded as security forces continue combing operations in the region.

Sketches of Attackers Released
In a significant development, Jammu and Kashmir Police released sketches of three Pakistani nationals believed to have executed the attack. The sketches, created with input from eyewitnesses, have been distributed across the region to aid in identification and capture.
Authorities have urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity immediately.

Security Tightened Across the Region
Following the attack, security has been ramped up across Jammu and Kashmir, especially in tourist hubs and border areas. Army and police units have launched intensive search operations, and checkpoints have been established at major travel routes to prevent further violence.
