The Canadian actress married her longtime love, Clay, in a sentimental celebration filled with heirloom details, vintage touches, and a storybook seating chart crafted with intention.

Canadian actress TJ McGibbon, known for her roles in Anne with an E, X-Men: Apocalypse, and The Umbrella Academy, stepped into a new leading role this summer as a bride. On August 15, she married her longtime love, Clay, in a heartfelt celebration that perfectly captured their story. From her vintage-inspired gown to their book-themed seating chart, every element reflected the couple’s shared love of family, creativity, and sentimentality.

Working alongside planner Dallas Lombardi of Dallas and Co Event Agency, TJ’s vision came to life in what can only be described as an intimate and beautifully personal affair.

“Dallas said to me early on, ‘You’re very old meets new,’ and that was exactly it,” TJ shares. “We wanted our day to feel like us, a reflection of our story.”

The Vision: Old Meets New Romance

Held in Hamilton, the wedding blended sentimental details with understated luxury. TJ wore her mother’s wedding dress, creating an heirloom moment that made the day even more meaningful. Their florist, Kate from Gather in Hamilton, crafted whimsical arrangements featuring Ulster Merriam, her late grandmother’s favorite flower.

“Kate snuck those into my bouquet so I could carry my grandmother down the aisle with me,” TJ says. “Every detail was just so personal and thoughtful.”

The tablescapes featured custom stationery from Amber at All That’s Lovely, where each guest’s name appeared on a delicate scroll cascading from champagne glasses. “It was stunning,” TJ smiles.

The Planner’s Touch

For Lombardi, luxury is not about extravagance. It is about intention.

“People hear ‘luxury’ and think over the top,” Dallas explains. “To me, it means personalized. Every single detail, from the glassware to the seating chart, is chosen to represent the couple’s story.”

She recalls TJ’s early inspiration board. “She said one word, wildflower, and my mind just ran with it,” Dallas laughs. “They are young but old souls. Modern but a bit vintage. That one word shaped everything.”

The Book Lover’s Seating Chart

Among the many thoughtful touches, the couple’s book seating chart stole the show. With help from Special Event Rentals and All That’s Lovely, TJ and Clay created an art meets literature masterpiece with shelves lined with wrapped vintage books labeled by table number.

Each guest received a hand-picked novel as a wedding favor, complete with a personal note from the couple inside.

“We picked every book ourselves,” TJ says. “Some were inside jokes, others meaningful stories. Watching our guests unwrap them and laugh was so special.”

Dallas agrees. “It is the perfect example of old meets new. Bookshelves are trendy, but this was heartfelt and nostalgic. It was so them.”

Moments to Remember

The ceremony, officiated by Clay’s father, provided one of the most emotional moments of the day.

“He asked us to look out at everyone who had been part of our story,” TJ recalls. “It was so powerful. Just family and friends who feel like family. I looked out and even caught Dallas’s eye. She felt like part of our story too.”

For Dallas, one scene stood out. “When Clay’s dad invited the entire family to surround them for a prayer during golden hour, it was magical,” she says. “I actually teared up. I had never seen anything like it.”

From “I Do” to Disney

Just four days later, the newlyweds jetted off to Walt Disney World Resort for a honeymoon that felt straight out of a fairytale.

“Clay’s parents honeymooned there too,” TJ shares. “We loved that idea. We are not loungers. We love to explore, and Disney is just magical.”

The pair stayed at Disney’s iconic Polynesian Village Resort, revisiting childhood memories while creating new ones together.

“Both our families have such fond memories at Disney, so going as our own little family felt really special,” she says. “We rode Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind four times. It is our favorite ride.”

Being gluten free, the couple were impressed by Disney’s commitment to dietary inclusivity. “They are incredible with allergies,” TJ adds. “There is a place called Nomad Lounge in Animal Kingdom that has gluten free churros that will change your life.”

A Celebration of Love, Family, and Storytelling

Looking back, TJ says the magic of her wedding was in the connection. It was a celebration of family, heritage, and every story woven into each flower, scroll, and page.

“It was exactly us,” she smiles. “Every detail told part of our story.”

Dallas sums it up simply. “It was a wedding where luxury meant love in the details, and that is the best kind there is.”

As the newlyweds settle into this next chapter, both TJ and Dallas reflect on the experience with full hearts. TJ describes the journey as “a year of little ideas that Dallas always just got,” while Dallas says watching everything come together felt like witnessing their story unfold in real time. With a wedding rooted in meaning and a honeymoon filled with nostalgia and magic, TJ and Clay created a celebration that was as intentional as it was beautiful. And as TJ puts it best, “It was exactly us.”
