Former Football Player Jacoby Jones Dead At 40

July 14th, 2024 – Former NFL Wide Receiver and Kickoff Returner Jacoby Jones was found dead in his home Sunday morning.

The former football player was reportedly found in his home Sunday morning. He is believed to have passed in his sleep. Currently, no further details have been released about his passing. Fans, Coaches, and Teammates are all sending best wishes to Jacoby and his family.

Former Texans’ teammate J.J. Watt honored his teammate by stating, “Jacoby was one of the most fun-loving teammates and people I’ve ever been around. Always dancing and laughing, with a permanent smile on his face. Gone far, far too soon. R.I.P Jacoby Jones.” (here) Another one of Jones’ Texan teammates, Arian Foster said “shit hurts. love you homie ????????????️”.

Baltimore Ravens

As a receiver, Jones totaled 203 catches for 2,733 yards and 14 touchdowns receptions during his time with the Texans (here). He spent three seasons with the Ravens before moving to the Pittsburgh Steelers and then San Diego Chargers in 2015 before retiring. Although Jones was best known for making a 108-yard kickoff return during Super Bowl XLVII.

Jones celebrated his birthday a few days before his death. His mom said in an Instagram post, “Good morning, family and friends! Please help me wish my witty, handsome, caring, loving, humble, one and only, best friend, Great Dad, and my rock a HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Love you, son!” Jones is survived by his mother, Emily, and son, Little Jacoby.
