Kevin Costner recently discussed his divorce, his upcoming film “Horizon”, and the future of the hit TV show “Yellowstone”.
June 29, 2024- Actor Kevin Costner describes his divorce with ex-wife, Christine Baumgartner, as a “crushing moment” on CBS Mornings.
Horizon: An American Saga
Costner, 69, recently spoke with host Gayle King on CBS Mornings about his upcoming film “Horizon: An American Saga”.
Costner revealed he has been working on the film since 1988.
“I commissioned it then, and no one would make it. I couldn’t forget it as I fell in love with it. So I kept pushing it forward,” Costner said.
“The women in the film end up dominating in a really interesting way. I can’t imagine a world without women,” he continued.

King then asked him about his divorce from Christine Baumgartner.
“It’s a crushing moment, it hurt and it was powerful,” Costner said.
“But I have to move forward, my children are looking at me, and I can’t wilt like a daisy. I have to continue to be who I am,” he continued.
The pair met while Costner was filming the romantic comedy “Tin Cup”, and were married in 2004.
Baumgartner filed for divorce in May of 2023, which was finalized in February 2024.
Yellowstone Season 5 Part 2
King discussed Costner’s continued involvement with the hit TV series “Yellowstone” and the bumpy relationship with creator Taylor Sheridan.
“I love the show, before anybody really did. The idea is wide open for me,” Costner said.
King additionally pressed for an answer regarding the dispute between Sheridan and himself.
“This isn’t therapy, Gayle. We aren’t going to discuss this on the show,” he replied.
It has been confirmed that Costner will not be returning after Season 5 of “Yellowstone”.
It is alleged that it is due to scheduling problems, but other rumours point to artistic differences that Sheridan and Costner experienced while working on the last season.
