Nicholas Cage and Maika Monroe hit the red carpet for the premiere of the upcoming horror film, “Longlegs”. 

July 9, 2024- Stars in the upcoming horror film, “Longlegs”, walked the red carpet for the L.A. premiere on Monday, July 8^th.

Longlegs Movie 2024 Release Date

Nicolas Cage, who plays the titular character “Longlegs”, can be seen wearing a black suit with a bedazzled trim.

Photographed next to him is Maika Monroe, who is rocking a leather bra top and matching skirt.

Monroe, 31, is known for her roles in the 2014 cult horror film, “It Follows”, and the 2022 psychological thriller, “Watcher”.

The supporting cast of the film was also pictured, with Alicia Witt and Blair Underwood taking the side of Cage for a group photo.

The director of the film, Oz Perkins, told Indie Wire that his parents’ dark history is what inspired the story for the film.

Perkins father, Anthony Perkins, is known to all horror fans as he starred as Norman Bates in Alfred Hitchcock’s 1960 film “Psycho”.

Perkins has also directed previous horror films, like “The Blackcoat’s Daughter” and “Gretel and Hansel”.

What is the Movie Longlegs Based On?

The film follows an FBI agent (Munroe) who is tracking down a serial killer that is affiliated with the occult.

The official trailer gave viewers a taste of the suspense to come, with little teasers pointing at Cage’s terrifying portrayal of the killer, Longlegs.

Neon, the film’s production company, recently posted a promotional TikTok that shows Monroe seeing Cage as the killer for the first time.

The video said that Monroe’s resting heart rate is 76 beats-per-minute (BPM), and in the scene with Cage, her heart rate hit 170 BPM.

According to the Vancouver Sun, the film was shot in the Vancouver area at the beginning of 2023.
