Former Saints Receiver Michael Thomas, Ripped into Derek Carr after the Saints lose 7th Straight Game.
November 5, 2o24- Michael Thomas took to X yesterday during the Saints/Panthers matchup to publicly attack Derek Carr. He voiced his frustrations throughout the game after star wide receiver, Chris Olave, left early with a concussion.
The outburst came after a hospital ball was thrown Olaves way from Derek Carr. Olave was sandwiched between two defenders and had to be taken out on a stretcher.

Following the injury, Thomas ranted on X about quarterback Derek Carr. Stating, “Dude scary and panic and just throw the ball. Get him the F out of there he so A**.” (here) He then continued, “They fired all them coaches trying to cover his flaws up and he still doing the same sh-t.”
These are just excerpts, you can still find his rant on his profile at X.
Michael Thomas Rips Carr
Thomas has been critical of Carr since his season ending knee injury in 2023 (which he blamed on Carr for a bad ball) and he continued his disapproval of the quarterback further yesterday.
Olave was thrown a hospital ball. No doubt about it.
For those unfamiliar with the term, a hospital ball is a pass to a receiver thrown into coverage where it seems likely before passing that the receiver will take a big hit whether or not it is completed.
In the post game interview following the loss to the Panthers, Carr was asked about his thoughts on his former teammates comments.

Michael Thomas
Thomas was one of the best receivers in the league during his peak. He was selected in the 2nd round in 2016 and went on to become former quarterback and future hall of famer, Drew Brees’ favorite target. He won Offensive player of the year in 2019 with 149 catches for 1,725 yards and 9 touchdowns. Since then, he has become injury prone and was later cut from the Saints after a failed physical.
Carr has received a lot of criticism throughout his tenure in the NFL. From his time on the Raiders to his current campaign with the Saints, his career has been under tight scrutiny.
To make matters worse, Chris Olave was his best receiver and is now out indefinitely with his 2nd concussion of the season. His brother posted on X an update on Chris’s injury and stated that the young receivers NFL future was “Not worth it in NOLA.”
