OJ Simpson Cancer

Simpson was reportedly battling cancer as confirmed by the below post on X, revealing that Simpson had passed away recently.

It is alleged that Simpson was battling prostate cancer recently, as outlined by TMZ here in this related article. Apparently, his condition worsened in the past few months and he was in hospice care. However, this was allegedly denied by Simpson when he took to social media to address claims, which started circulating earlier this year. As the article by TMZ explains, Simpson had allegedly hinted at a cancer diagnosis last year but did not detail anything further.

What did OJ Simpson do?

Simpson was famously acquitted of murdering his ex-wife, Nicole Simpson, and Ronald Lyle Goldman. There was an infamous trial back in 1995 that lasted more than 8 months and saw 150 witnesses testify as noted here. Simpson did not take the stand although he tried on a bloody leather glove found at his home that seemed to be too small for his hand.

As noted here, Simpson was surrounded by the “Dream Team” which was made up of the attorneys representing him, including; F. Lee Bailey, Robert Blasier, Shawn Chapman Holley, Robert Shapiro, Alan Dershowitz, Robert Kardashian, and Johnnie Cochran.

OJ Simpson Trial

The 1995 trial brought in millions of viewers although Simpson was eventually acquitted for the murders during this trial.

However, in 1997, a civil trial jury deemed Simpson liable for wrongful death in the two murders, as noted here. As a result, Simpson was ordered to pay $33.5 million in damages.  In a later case, Simpson served nine years in prison for a robbery in Las Vegas- this case was unrelated to the murders (here).
