GoT star Pedro Pascal appeared in a recent The Hollywood Reporter’s Actor Roundtable episode where he opened up about how fans bizarrely approached him after the death of his GoT character. According to the actor, people used to stop him to ask for selfies and put their thumbs in his eyes. Consequently, that led to Pascal getting an eye infection.

“I remember, earlier on, because of Game of Thrones and the way my character died, people were super into taking selfies with their thumbs in my eyes,” Pascal said, as noted here

“At first, I was so earnest and happy about the success of the character in the show, and I’d let them. In New York, of all places!” he continued. That had led to “a bit of an eye infection,” he then added.

Pascal’s GoT character, Oberyn Martell, died in season 4 of the show, as another character, Gregor “The Mountain” Clegane, was pushing his fingers into Martell’s eyes during a life-or-death fight. When meeting Pascal, fans were trying to recreate that scene.

In a recent interview, Pedro Pascal opened up about the day he had filmed the episode in which his character was killed. “It was so hot when we were shooting that scene. He’s over me, and he puts his thumbs into my eyes, and they’ve got tubing through his body into his forearms to his thumbs just pumping this cool blood,” the actor recalled, as CNN writes here. He added that the fake blood the producers had used for the scene “was very cathartic and I went into the deepest sleep I’d been in.”
