Richard Simmons 76, dies.

July 15, 2024 – Simmons’ publicist and Brother Lenny confirmed that the famous exercise guru passed away peacefully on Saturday.

Celebrities like comedian and actor Pauly Shore posted their condolences on social media calling Simmons “one of a kind.”

Shore continued “I just got word like everyone else that the beautiful Richard Simmons has passed,” Shore wrote. “I hope you’re at peace and twinkling up in the heavens… Rest in peace, my friend. Rest in peace,” Shore concluded.

Los Angeles police received a call from Simmon’s housekeeper after finding Simmons unresponsive. The Police determined that the Celebrity fitness instructor died from natural causes.

One day before he died, he thanked fans for all of the birthday wishes, and he posted his gratitude on X.

Simmons is well known for empowering people to lose weight, stay fit, and eat healthy. 

On March 18th, Richard Simmons posted… I want you to enjoy your life to the fullest every single day. Get up in the morning and look at the sky… count your blessings and enjoy.”

The fitness transition began for Simmons when he was 16. He started self-educating himself about living a better healthier life, because, at the age of 8, he said that he weighed 200 lbs.

In 1974 he opened up his first aerobics studio in Beverly Hills and called it Slimmons which catered to overweight people.

Lenny paid tribute by writing on his brother’s X timeline.
