During a TikTok live, Selena Gomez announced to her fans that she will take a break from social media once again. The singer thinks she is ”too old for this” and she will ”take a break from everything”. “I’m going to be taking a second from social media because this is a little silly. I’m 30 and am too old for this. But I love you so much and I’ll see you guys sooner than later,”, the singer told her fans.

Selena Gomez has taken multiple breaks from social media over time. According to this article, the ”Lose You To Love Me” singer announced in 2019 that negative comments had a negative impact on her mental health.

The news about taking another break from social media came shortly after Selena Gomez became the most followed woman on Instagram, dethroning Kylie Jenner.

In a recent interview for Vanity Fair, Selena talked about the kinds of comments she receives on her social media and the struggles she faced because of them. ”People can call me ugly or stupid and I’m like, Whatever. But these people get detailed. They write paragraphs that are so specific and mean. I would constantly be crying. I constantly had anxiety…I couldn’t do it anymore. It was a waste of my time.”, she confessed. She also mentioned that the only social media app she has on her phone is TikTok as it is ”a little less hostile”.
