This is reportedly the first Western interview with media the Russian president will engage in following the start of the war back in 2022. Carlson took to social media platform, X, formerly known as Twitter, to share that he is in Moscow, the capital of Russia. He also shares his thoughts on why he is conducting this upcoming interview here.

In Carlson’s words, there are risks to conducting this interview. Carlson is allegedly doing this because it is his job, as he is a journalist, and feels that he has a duty to inform people. Carlson explains that the war is a human disaster that has left hundreds of thousands dead and depopulated the largest country in Europe. The war has also since seemingly reshaped the military and trade alliances.

Carlson claims that not a single Western journalist has bothered to interview Putin even though American media outlets have reportedly conducted scores of interviews with the president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy. However, Carlson claims that these interviews with Zelenskyy over the past couple of years since the war began have been “fawning pep sessions” designed to amplify Zelenskyy’s alleged demands that the US should enter “more deeply” into the war, according to Carlson. Carlson then calls this “government propaganda.”

According to Carlson, he is interviewing Putin because he claims that most Americans have “no idea why Putin invaded Ukraine or what his goals are now.” Carlson believes that “Americans have a right to know all they can about a war they are implicated in.” Carlson claims, “We are not here because we love Vladimir Putin. We are here because we love the United States.”

Carlson claims they are not charging anyone for the interview and that it will not be behind a paywall. Supposedly, anyone can watch the interview shot live to tape, unedited, on TuckerCarlson.com. Carlson claims Elon Musk has agreed not to suppress or block the interview on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Carlson ends this viral clip by saying that he is not encouraging audiences to agree with what Putin may say in this interview. He is, however, encouraging people to watch it to know as much as they can.

What do you think about Carlson’s take on this upcoming interview?
